The Bairrada is a wine-producing region. Around the time of Portugal’s, it was a land of passage and conquests, of struggles between Christians and Arabs. Back then, the capital was Coimbra and territory was still being claimed towards the South, but now it is currently full of vitality, of history, and looking for a place in the future.

The PRINCIPAL GRANDE RESERVA Red Wine 2012 has his origin in a property located in the oldest town in the municipality of Anadia and the region of Vinhos da Bairrada. A 2012 Wine, that brought together grapes from the varieties of Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This resulted in a blend of a terroir with a climate of Atlantic influence, one protected by the mountains of Caramulo and Buçaco, with vines planted in gentle hills on clay-soils.

Principal Grande Reserva 2012 Red Wine represents a range of superlative wines, from bottles that aspire to be excellent and that best define the boldest ambitions of its customers.

Tasting Notes: The PRINCIPAL Grande Reserve Red Wine 2012 has a beautiful color, with violet tones. In the nose, you can feel a floral and ripe black fruit aroma with light spices notes, which gives it an excellent complexity. In the mouth, it appears to be a full-bodied, long, silky wine with elegant and smooth tannins. We are presented with a wine, which is recommended as a good investment for conservation, and in this regard, it should be protected from light and without great thermal amplitudes, between 12 and 14ºC.

Harmonization: The PRINCIPAL GRANDE RESERVA Red Wine 2012 is the wine indicated for all special occasions, unique gifts and to serve alongside exceptional meals, namely roast meals, dishes with Cod, Beef, Lamb, Game meat (deer, venison) , and even Birds. Using a "football" metaphor, he is an indisputable holder.

Serving temperature: Between 17 and 19ºC.
