Dear Reader,

Thank you for keeping up with us.

As lovers of our local production and supporters of independent producers, we are happy to share with you the knowledge and delights of our beautiful country.

Join us in Easter time! Easter in Portugal is always family and food and with sunny days reminding us that summer is on the way, Easter is an excellent time Portugal.

What happens in Portugal at Easter?

A bit of everything, we must say. Usually (before Covid) most devout Portuguese participate in traditional and theatrical representations of the Christian story of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection.

Many practising people will attend religious services in churches all over the country during Easter. Plenty of non-religious Portuguese people will associate Easter with family and gastronomic delights. It is a time for lots of chocolate!

The Easter celebrations in Portugal include many special dishes and good wine. In addition to the traditional cod on Good Friday, Easter Sunday is all about the roasted lamb. Folar de Páscoa is a special Easter bread that has to be on most people’s tables. It symbolizes the bread in the Last Supper, and the resurrection of Christ. It is mainly served as a sweet dish, but in some regions, it includes sausages, ham or meat.

All this always with the best wine…. check here our suggestions:
