Dão Wine Region
Nature has given the Dão Demarcated Region a set of happy geographical coincidences. Among deeply mountainous areas, valleys coexist with hills and smooth, rounded slopes.
This Quinta do Sobral Selected Harvest Red Wine is a blend from the Dão Wine Region, which combines Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen after a harvest that took place in the third week of September. The grapes were harvested manually, for small boxes of 18 kg, according to a careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard. The grapes were totally destemmed for small stainless steel tanks, where they macerated 24 hours at low temperature, before starting alcoholic fermentation, with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel presses, with soft mechanical treads for a good extraction of color and aromas. After fermentation, it was transferred to a stainless steel tank, where it decanted naturally until the time of bottling.
Tasting Notes: When the Quinta do Sobral Selected Harvest Red Wine is placed in the glass, we have a wine with an intense ruby color, on the nose we have a lot of aroma, it is due to its nature in fact a very aromatic wine, with notes of strawberries and raspberry and light floral, already in the mouth, it is a balanced wine, with tannins present and a long and smooth finish.
Grapes/varietes: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen.
Harmonization: Here the Quinta do Sobral Selected Harvest Red Wine is also, like Rosé Wine and White Wine of the same range and I label it a Wine for everyday life, that wine to always have on hand, to accompany any meal well.
