In the extreme south of Portugal, in addition to beautiful beaches, the Algarve is also a wine-growing region, which has very specific characteristics, due to its proximity to the sea, the climate, the natural vegetation and even the culture marked by the long Arab occupation.
The demarcated region of the Algarve dates back to 1980, producing red, white, rosé and liqueur wines.
White and red wines are characterized by aromas of ripe fruit and a velvety, warm flavor.
This Cabrita Reserva White Wine 2018 is the result of a plantation in clayey and limestone soil, with vines that bring together Arinto and Verdelho varieties. After a manual harvest, the vinification had a careful process, being the grapes specially selected in the vineyard and harvested by hand, the pressing is done with whole bunches and at low pressure, the fermentation and aging is done in French oak barrels for 8 months.
Tasting Notes: The Cabrita Reserva 2018 white wine is a very well-crafted wine, the result of aging in French oak barrels, which makes it complex and peppery on the nose, but dominated by notes of matured fruit. In the mouth it enters elegant, with several layers of flavor, and an enveloping body due to its texture and acidity.
Grape varieties: Arinto and Verdelho.
Pairing: With this Cabrita Reserva 2018 white wine, our modest suggestion is to accompany meals with fish or meat in the oven and dishes with more intense and complex flavors.
Serve at: Between 8 and 10°C
Responsible for oenology: Joana Maçanita and Dinis Gonçalves.
