Dão Wine Region.
Nature has given the Dão Demarcated Region a set of happy geographical coincidences. Among deeply mountainous areas, valleys coexist with hills and smooth, rounded slopes.
This Maria de Santar Red Wine is a wine from the Dão Wine Region, whose harvest takes place at the end of September, a blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen, which were harvested manually, for small boxes of 18Kg, of according to a careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard. The grapes were totally destemmed for stainless steel tanks where macerated 24h at low temperature, before starting alcoholic fermentation, with selected yeasts and controlled temperature. The alcoholic fermentation lasted about 12 days, with soft pumping over for a good extraction of color and aromas. It aged only in stainless steel to preserve all the aromas of fresh fruit.
Tasting Notes: The Red Wine Maria de Santar in the glass presents an intense ruby color, on the nose it is very aromatic, with notes of strawberries and raspberry and light floral, on the palate it is a balanced wine, with tannins present and a long and soft finish.
Grapes/varietes: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro e Jaen.
Harmonization:Here the Red Wine Maria de Santar is also, like Rosé Wine and White Wine of the same range and I label it a Wine for everyday life, that wine to always have on hand, to accompany any meal well.
