Mouchão 2017 is a cult classic red wine, traditionally crafted at Herdade do Mouchão in the heart of Alentejo. Made from 85% Alicante Bouschet and 15% Trincadeira, it originates from old vineyards with low yields and exceptional concentration.

Vinification follows ancestral methods: fermentation in open stone lagares, using whole grape clusters with foot treading, followed by malolactic fermentation in large 5,000L wooden vats. The wine is aged for 3 to 4 years in wood, then an additional 4 years in bottle before release.

It boasts a deep ruby color, with intense and complex aromas of ripe wild berries, spices, and black olive paste. On the palate, it is dense and structured, with firm yet refined tannins, layered notes of mint and tobacco, and a long, fresh, and characterful finish.

A wine built to age gracefully, with peak potential until 2040, perfect to accompany game dishes, grilled red meats, or aged cheeses.
